Georgia Virtual Learning offers accessible courses and resources. The Georgia Virtual School program implements classroom accommodations to meet individual learning requirements, ensuring students receive the support they need.
Georgia Virtual Learning is here to partner with you! We offer 150+ professionally developed courses for grades K-12. Georgia subject matter experts built these courses for Georgia students and aligned with Georgia standards. Georgia Digital Curriculum provides free access to course curriculum and are distributed in a public format. Georgia public schools can request access to Common Cartridge course packages to use in their learning management system.
In-State Certified Teachers
- Current, valid, and in-field Georgia teaching certification issued by the GaPSC.
- Application submitted to in-field posting
- Completion of the first two courses in the Effective Online Teaching Pathway: Professional Responsibilities and Digital Pedagogy
- College Board training for Advanced Placement courses
- Requisite time to complete induction process and to provide quality instruction to all students on a flexible schedule
Out-of-State Certified Teachers
- Do you hold a valid teaching certificate from another state? Visit the Georgia Professional Standards Commission for further information about obtaining a Georgia teaching certificate. For more information about interstate reciprocity, visit the Georgia PSC’s Move to Georgia page.
- If you have completed an educator preparation program in a U.S. territory or another country, you may qualify for a Georgia educator certificate. Visit Georgia PSC’s International Educators page to learn more.
Schools who participate in the PartnerUP program will receive access to Canvas learning management system (LMS) for their teachers and students, technology support for rostering through district student information systems, district branding within the LMS including school logo and colors to represent district-driven instruction, and access to all GaVS content for grades 6-12. Our program includes 125+ Georgia standards-based courses ready-made for instruction and provides basic authoring tools for elementary teachers to create their own virtual resources.
GaVS instructional coaches train teachers in online and blended learning; provide personalized professional learning; and offer support, collaboration, and resources to participating schools – all at no cost.
Georgia Virtual Learning offers a versatile online education platform suitable for a diverse range of student needs. Here’s how the program partners with the local school to meet learner needs:
- Provides a pathway for students to catch up, recover credits, and graduate on time.
- Offers flexibility for students to enroll in classes outside their regular school day or that do not fit into their schedules.
- Presents access to specialized courses like AP options unavailable or full at the student’s local school.
- Partners with local schools to serve students when a local teacher is unavailable.
- Enables advanced learners to progress faster or complete prerequisite courses.
- Supports students who travel frequently to continue their education uninterrupted.
- Affords students the opportunity to complete CTAE pathways.
