Emmeline
Emmeline has taken two Georgia Virtual School courses with me. The first, Ninth Grade Literature and Composition A and B, during the 2024-2025 school year, and the second, Tenth Grade Literature and Composition AB, during Summer Session 2025. Emmeline is truly a shining star, and she is always eager to discuss, explore, and analyze any type of literary text presented either in the curriculum, during a Live Learning session, or just a general discussion. As for her writing, over the last year and a summer, Emmeline’s talent for the written word have evolved so beautifully and so impressively. She is precise and expressive, regardless of the style of writing, and she has a true voice in her written texts that is quite uncommon at such a young age. On a more personal note, Emmeline is terribly clever, and we have the best time sharing our favorite books and just sending a “have a good day” email exchange mid-week. What a joy for Georgia Virtual School to have Emmeline as one of its most amazing students.
Emmeline is a thoughtful and hardworking student who enjoys being involved in a variety of activities both in and out of school. She has a strong love for animals and is a dedicated equestrian, focusing on Western Dressage. She’s a member of the Western Dressage Association of Florida (WDAFL) and the Western Dressage Association of America (WDAA), and she enjoys helping out at the barn with grooming and other stable tasks.
She plays on her high school and 17u travel soccer teams, swims competitively, and runs cross country. At school, Emmeline is involved in student council and yearbook. Outside of school, she participates in 4-H and volunteers with several service organizations, including the Lutheran Braille Bible Mission, MAP International, Second Harvest, and Skylark.
In her free time, Emmeline is writing a novel and teaching herself to play the guitar. She enjoys staying active, learning new things, and finding ways to contribute to her community.
