Meet Amanda
Amanda Robinson is currently a third-year student at the University of Georgia, where she is double majoring in Music and Communication Sciences and Disorders. She plans to merge her passion for music and her love of working with children by becoming a pediatric speech-language pathologist, integrating music as a key component of her therapy approach. Amanda credits her Georgia Virtual School (GaVS) experience with helping her build the academic skills and confidence that support her success today.
Amanda first enrolled in GaVS courses the summer before her freshman year, completing Personal Fitness and Health so she could take additional courses during the school year. Later, as a senior, she took AP Music Theory through GaVS because her local high school did not offer the course. She says the foundational knowledge she gained in AP Music Theory prepared her well for college-level music theory and strengthened her ability to succeed in online coursework.
Amanda’s journey is just one example of how GaVS empowers students with flexible learning pathways that support their academic goals and have a meaningful impact long into the future.
