Meet Megan

Several years ago, Megan Gibbs made a smart decision that helped shape her future. As a high school student, she chose to take Health and Personal Fitness through Georgia Virtual School during the summer. That choice freed up her schedule so she could focus on her PE course and her passion—softball. It was a move that paid off in a big way.

Megan earned a scholarship to play Division I softball at Utah Valley University, where she competed for four years while majoring in Hospitality Management. Her dedication and talent on the field were undeniable. Megan is tied for the most home runs in UVU softball history and led the team in walks, a statistic that speaks to her patience and strategic approach at the plate.

Academically, Megan thrived as well. College required her to complete numerous online courses, and thanks to her experience with Georgia Virtual, she was well-prepared for the demands of virtual learning. The skills she developed in high school gave her confidence and helped her succeed in a digital environment.

Megan’s story is a wonderful example of how Georgia Virtual School empowers students to balance academics and extracurricular activities while building skills that last a lifetime. We are proud to celebrate her accomplishments and look forward to seeing what she achieves next!
