Trey English
More than 15 years ago, when Trey was in high school, he took AP Music Theory through Georgia Virtual School. He was a dedicated and involved student and an ideal classmate. It was such a pleasure to have him in my online music theory class and I jumped at the chance when I had the opportunity to meet Trey and his mom in person! After Trey graduated high school, I was able to keep in touch with him and watch him mature as a college musician, and then as a music teacher.
In addition to working as a middle school band director, Trey is a performing musician, on piano and trombone, and shares his knowledge of music as an adjunct university faculty member of trombone! He puts his heart and soul into his work as a middle school band director and is always working to become a better educator.
Trey is the perfect example of a lifelong learner. He has earned multiple degrees in Music Education and Music Performance, and recently completed his Doctorate of Philosophy in Music Education with his research interests in imposter syndrome and mental health in music educators. Very impressive for Dr. English to obtain! Not only has he worked to advance his knowledge of music, but Trey has also earned his certification to teach yoga! As one of his high school music teachers, it has been special to watch Trey work in music, mature as a music educator, and more recently, as a husband and a new father.
