Homeschool

Georgia Virtual School makes our courses available to homeschool students. We provide these courses through an allotment of state-funded seats for fall and spring semesters on a first-come, first-served basis. After the allotment has been reached, students must pay tuition and fees for all GaVS courses. Students register for semesters individually, so make sure to submit individual course requests for all semesters in which you intend to enroll.

Dexter Mosely Act

During the 2021 legislative session, the Georgia General Assembly passed the Dexter Mosely Act (Senate Bill 42). This legislation authorizes home study students in grades 6-12 to participate in extracurricular and interscholastic activities in the student’s resident public school system, with the requirement of certain notification and course enrollment provisions. The law is codified in O.C.G.A. § 20-2-319.6.

Eligibility Requirements:
Please note the six eligibility requirements outlined by the Georgia Department of Education. You will need to contact your local school district for information regarding their specific enrollment procedures.
