Public and private school students will have their local school facilitator approve all GaVS course requests. Once the student submits the course request, GaVS immediately sends an email notification to the school for processing. Students and parents can follow up with the local school if the request has not been processed within a few school days.
Homeschool students will have their course requests approved by a GaVS support specialist. Once the student submits the course request, a GaVS support specialist will review it and issue approval or denial within a few school days.
Students and parents can log into their GaVS account to send payment. The “make a payment” button is on the left-side task menu, and the course(s) with required payment will be listed. Once credit card information is successfully entered, the status of the course request will be updated to paid.
Public and private school students must contact their local school facilitator for the denial reason. Homeschool students can submit a Contact Us form so the GaVS facilitator can review the course requests.
The program offers free access to Georgia public high schools that choose to participate. First-time enrollments are free for all Georgia public high school students, but students who need to re-enroll in a credit recovery course must pay a $25 re-enrollment fee. Private school students can use the Georgia Credit Recovery Program at a cost of $100 per half-credit course and $200 per full-credit course. CR requires schools to assign a credit recovery coordinator, and this cost isn’t funded by GaDOE.
Students must contact the local school coordinator to be enrolled in GaCR courses.
No. Students must use an email address that can receive outside emails. Many schools and districts block external emails from being received.
If a student is suspended or expelled from another school, GaVS administration must be notified prior to enrollment. Students are required to submit all discipline records to GaVS administration. Administration will review the records and issue approval or denial for enrollment.
